The tread design has heavy siping ( the process of cutting thin slits across the surface of a tire to improve traction for driving in snowy, wet or icy conditions) for improved grip in wintery conditions, such as snow and slush.
Cold outside temperatures (from approx. 6 degrees Celsius) place special demands on scooter tyres, so winter tyres have a much softer rubber compound and give the tyre better grip. A deeper profile structure, interspersed with small lamellas, supports water displacement with excellent results.
